Mama Heidi
Adelheid (Heidi) Wittwer
The Namesake & Inspiration
1939–2024
A dedicated nurse at heart. Since her training, Heidi dreamed of helping in Africa — inspired by Albert Schweitzer. Life took her other paths, but her dream lived on and was passed down to her daughter Stephanie. The health center bears her name and her spirit.
Stephanie Wittwer
Founder
b. 1967
Psychologist and health scientist, with over 26 years in rehabilitation. Her first trip to Africa took her to Ghana in 1998. Through PLAN International she sponsored children there for years — until empathy turned into her own project. She founded the MHHC in 2023.
Prince Sisu Haruna
Co-Founder
b. 1987, Tamale
Grew up in Tamale, lives alternately in Ghana and northern Spain. Co-founded the Prince and Princess Academy (now over 220 students). Sisu knows the needs of his home community first-hand and is the heart of the project on the ground.
King Kora Haruna
Plumber & On-site Coordinator
Tamale, Ghana
Trained plumber and well-known Ghanaian musician (YouTube: @GHKINGKORA). King Kora handles the technical work on site and brings his local networks to the project.

Materials Coordination
Tamale, Ghana
Kamil coordinates the local tradespeople and is responsible for sourcing building materials. He is the operational backbone on the construction site.
Belén
Finance & Education
Northern Spain
Spanish teacher who has taught at the Prince and Princess Academy. Belén manages the project finances and ensures transparency for all supporters.
Martin H.
Key Supporter
Germany
In 2023, Martin gave the decisive push that led Stephanie to really get the project started. He is not directly on site, but his influence on the start of the MHHC cannot be overstated.

The community in Tamale
Behind the project stand not only those named individually — but the entire community in Bisco, Tamale. They are both the goal and the co-creators.
The MHHC is developed with the community from the very start, not for it. Local tradespeople build, local women participate actively in the empowerment programme, local families become tenants.
